How It All Started
In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, when we were all stuck at home, running outside or going to fitness centers wasn’t possible. Many of us bought treadmills and tried to stay active. But let’s be honest – running at home while staring at a display with numbers isn’t much more fun than staring at a wall. Watching TV while running isn’t ideal either – your mind drifts elsewhere, and instead of relaxing, your head fills with thoughts unrelated to running.
Running outdoors has its charm. Familiar routes, landmarks, tranquility, and the natural pacing of your energy. That feeling was missing at home. That’s why we decided to create something new – a system for relaxing running that closely resembles outdoor running but from the comfort of home.
Yes, there are sports apps, but we wanted something different. Something that truly helps you relax, something that keeps you engaged while running without focusing on numbers or performance stats. And so, ZippyJog was born. At first, we made it for ourselves. Gradually, people around us started saying: “This looks great! I want it too!” So, we started asking questions and adjusting the app to make it accessible to others.
Why ZippyJog? The Benefits Through Users' Eyes
- I run in privacy – no one’s checking me out, I don’t have to feel self-conscious.
- I get scared running outside at night – this is perfect, because I can go for a run even at midnight.
- The weather doesn’t matter – I can feel like I’m outdoors, but without the risk of slipping or getting cold.
- I pick a route based on my mood – and I don’t have to leave the house.
- I don’t have to worry about an expensive computer – any device with a browser is enough.
- Running isn’t boring anymore – the routes change, the experience is different every time.
- Any treadmill or exercise bike works – I don’t have to spend money on fancy equipment.
- I stopped running outside – after giving birth I often need to go to the toilet. Thanks to this, I can run calmly again.
And then there was one honest comment from a lazy friend: 'Very nice, but not even this will make me run!' :)
Over time, we added the option to ride a stationary bike or use a stepper, so everyone can find something they like.
